<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The author analyses the origin of the phenomenon of monumentalization of a figure of the Italian poet Dante Alighieri, which took place in the XIX-XX centuries in Italy and has become a prerequisite for the appearance of a unique architectural projects performed in Italy of the 1930s based on the poem by Dante “Divine Comedy”. The author tries to prove that these architectural projects of Mussolini-era cannot be unambiguously linked to the fascist regime: the perception of Dante and his poem as a monument arose in the late XVIII century and has a close relationship with the movement for the independence of Italy.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>архитектурное проектирование</kwd><kwd>Бенито Муссолини</kwd><kwd>Джузеппе Терраньи</kwd><kwd>Данте Алигьери</kwd><kwd>Рисорджименто</kwd><kwd>литературоведение</kwd><kwd>architecture design</kwd><kwd>Benito Mussolini</kwd><kwd>Giuseppe Terragni</kwd><kwd>Dante Alighieri</kwd><kwd>Risorgimento</kwd><kwd>literature studies</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Schumacher Th.L.
