On specificity of realistic painting in Germany in the late 19th century. Analytical case of creative method and pedagogical system of Anton Ažbe
Abstract
The paper examines an identity of the realist trend in German painting of the late 19th century, with example of the principles of the Munich private school teacher Slovenian painter Anton Ažbe. The paper considers the impact of Ažbe’s creative method and teaching system on the development of realism, as well as its relationship with the impressionist and expressionist trends among Eastern European and Russian students of Ažbe.
