Abstract
The third part of the cycle on the creative history of Vl. Solovyov’s “Justification of the Good” is devoted to the possible sources of the thinker’s doctrine of love, which is also reflected in his treatise on moral philosophy. Vl. Solovyov refers to this part of his doctrine as “mystical aesthetics” and states in “Justification of the Good” that in this section of his new system, he will attempt to justify both the existing connection between people and previous generations, as well as the possibility of fulfilling one’s moral duty towards them. The main focus is on Solovyov’s interest in the work of American religious sectarians, particularly the communities of Bible Communists and Spiritualists, which he expressed in a series of polemical articles. The article explores and analyzes the possible connections between the ideas of the founders of these communities, John H. Noyes and Thomas Lake Harris, and Solovyov’s own ideas.
