On the connection between the concepts of the history of cinema and the conceptual apparatus in film science

Abstract

The article considers the “realistic” and “conventional” approach to the scientific apparatus in film science and determines the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. It is proved that both approaches exist only as part of the history of cinema, and relate both to ways of expressing the history of cinema, and to changing content of historical experience accumulated by the cinema.
